You’ve got more to say than your current headshot suggests
Welcome, I’m Chris, a photographer in Ashford, Kent, working with actors, creatives, founders, and businesses who want headshots with resonance.
Most portraits are all surface — nice lighting, forced smile, no depth. Yet I think your image should reflect more: how you think, what you value, where you’re going.
With an approach informed by Renaissance art and philosophy, and in my rural Ashford studio or on-location across Kent and East Sussex, I make space for thoughtful, image-led storytelling – portraits that work and mean something.

Interested in working with me but have some questions first?
Hi, I’m Chris
The best photography happens when everyone can forget that photos are being taken, so my goal is to put you completely at ease in our shoot. Regardless of how uncomfortable you might be in front of a camera, you deserve to look fantastic, and I will create a relaxed and friendly environment in which you will be captured looking your very best.
I particularly relish working creatively with clients because I have anauralia (a form of aphantasia) - I don’t have an internal ‘voice’ in my head. So, involving clients in my photographic process, interacting with their creativity and ideas, is a big part of how I work. I see my role as harnessing and facilitating clients’ creative energy and talent, and bringing this out in each image.
In a previous life, I was an award-winning lecturer in political philosophy, experience of which I bring into my photography through my direction and explanation of shoots. This doesn’t mean I’ll lecture you for hours on end, but it does mean I can understand what you want to get out of your photoshoot and then clearly guide you towards it.
